Kinship Programs

Mentoring:

Mentors- Positive adults looking to help make a difference in a child's life. Requires a min of 4-6 hours a month meeting with the mentee. Individual mentors are matched with same gender mentees between the ages of kindergarten and 12th grade. Mentors can be an individual, couple or family that mentor a child or siblings. We also have cross age mentoring within the schools and peer mentoring.

Find 5 Campaign- We are asking local churches to help us find 5 positive individuals who are willing to mentor and make a difference in the lives of local youth. Could you be the change? Could you make a difference in the life of a child?

Book Buddies- Meets at the Primary Elementary School twice a month on Tuesdays. The book buddies come in at the class’s lunchtime and sit with their matched buddy in the cafeteria. You have the choice to purchase or bring lunch if you would like to. Following lunch you accompany your buddy to the classroom and enjoy time together reading. There is a time commitment of about 1.5-2 hours a month and also we ask for volunteers to provide two books for their buddy, one at Christmas time and one at the end of the year. *If not financially able Kinship can help with the cost of books.

Rent-A-Ment- Goes along with our mentoring program. Individuals who are a part of this program can attend the monthly Kinship events with mentors and mentees and are there to assist with the event or partner with a kinskid who might not be matched yet or with a kinskid whose mentor is not available for the event. The rent-a-ment program is great for volunteers who would love to help out where they can and work with kinskids but might not be able to commit to the time requirement of being a mentor. Kinship can always use partnerships in the community & extra help at events.

Ambassadors- Individuals who have volunteered to talk about, promote and support Kinship in churches and around the community.
